Alfred Dunhill founded the company - we now know today for producing some of the finest luxury accessories for men - by building a business specialising in “everything but the Motor”.

A Jack of all trades, by the 1960s the Dunhill accessories line covered over 3000 unique products from high-end timepieces to cigarettes! Given Dunhill’s legend was founded within accessories, it is surprising that the Dunhill eyewear range was only released in 1981 when Optyl purchased the licence to manufacture for the Dunhill brand.

Synonymous with luxury men’s accessories, from the outset, Optyl targeted the luxury eyewear market for men. Many consider the Dunhill glasses frames produced during the early 80s and 90s as the highest quality eyeglasses that were ever manufactured by the Optyl team. They raised the bar in designer sunglasses by manufacturing Dunhill glasses with gold plated finishing and genuine buffalo horn trims.

All of our authentic vintage Dunhill sunglasses and glasses frames were made during the 1980s and early 90s to the exacting standards of this luxury brand. Over the years the love being shown for vintage Dunhill frames has only grown with celebrities, like Jay Z, being spotted wearing original vintage frames.
