What material are your lenses?
99% of our lenses are CR39 which is a modern impact resistant lens used for most luxury eyewear today. For our multi-flash lenses these are made from Nylon which also provides high levels of UVA and UVB protection. In some cases our sunglasses may still be fitted with their original lenses and this will be stated in the frame description.
See all our custom UV lensing options for vintage frames here.
-
What level of protection do your lenses offer?
All of our lenses are able to filter UVA and UVB light rays with wavelengths of 400 nanometers. This will provide complete protection for your retinas for everyday wear. Have a look at our blog post on custom lenses for more info.

What is "new old stock"?
The definition of new old stock is any vintage optical frame that has not been pre-owned by another customer, the important distinction is they are NOT second-hand frames that someone has worn for years and then either grown tired of or upgraded. Learn more about new old stock in our blog post.
