Oliver Goldsmith eyewear is a classic British heritage brand with over 4 generations of spectacular eyewear input. The vintage frames produced by Oliver Goldsmith are amongst some of the most famous of all time. From humble beginnings, working in an opticians in London, Oliver Goldsmith had a vision that eyewear could be done so differently. He grew tired of the functional optical devices that dominated the shelves of opticians across the UK and set out to change the eyewear world. He used his skills as a frame maker and began producing frames from metal that merged fashion with functionality.

Due to the high cost of real tortoiseshell Oliver Goldsmith’s earliest vintage frames were made from metal exclusively. Then, a chance trip to a plastic button factory would change the world of eyewear, forever. Seeing the brightly coloured plastic buttons available. Oliver Goldsmith began to prototype and explore the possibilities of making spectacles from this new material. The rest, as they say, is history.
