Guiseppe Ratti the founder of Persol starting making a name for himself in eyewear in 1917, as one of the first optometrists to experiment with smoked tints. The Persol brand as we know it, however, only emerged in the 1930s with the iconic silver arrow. In the 60s the brand really started to make a mark with icons such as Steve McQueen wearing the 649 and folding 714 in the Thomas Crown Affair. Persol was purchased by Luxottica group in 1995 but many of the frames are still made in their original factories in Turin. Explore our collection of vintage Persol eyewear today.
