Vintage Valentino Eyewear

It takes a lot of chutzpah to expect people to know who you are simply by your first name, Valentino had it in bucket loads. Starting out in the Parisian fashion scene as an apprentice to Guy LaRoche. Valentino would return to Italy in 1959 to build his own fashion empire - which he modelled upon the grand Houses of Paris.

It didn't take long for Valentino to develop a signature style of his own. The luxurious gowns he produced for his early Couture shows in Valentino red are now priceless fashion artefacts. 

It wasn’t until the early 1980s that Valentino became involved in sunglasses and glasses design and our collection of vintage Valentino eyewear is from this period. Famous for his love of the pug dog breed, Valentino went on to name an entire collection of frames after his favourite Pug puppy Oliver.
